Perhaps it’s a case of just not checking out the competition, but I really don’t understand the vitriol spewed towards iTunes.
What exactly do you need it to do that it doesn’t do? It plays music, it plays media, and it plays nicely with all of my Apple peripherals (iPhone, AppleTV, etc). I don’t know that I’ve ever had a situation with iTunes where I wished for something it couldn’t do.
I have. Finding and getting rid of / organizing duplicates is a serious pain, especially if you have two copies of one file in disparate portions of your file system. It would also be awesome if it pulled a musicbrainz type trick to help you properly tag files that have been improperly tagged for years and years and years. I’ve got mp3s from 1999 that are horrifically tagged, and haven’t gone through them because .. well.. there’s thousands. It’s also slower than slow. But not as slow as DoubleTwist :/
